New three-point gas spring
Patent NL1026457
“Can you fit a foot rest with a gas spring under a cash till?”, was the question from the market.
High position impossible
In traditional scissor mechanisms, the required force depends very much on the angle of the source of the force and the scissor mechanism. The smaller the angle, the greater the force required. In other words: a high position was virtually impossible.
Three-point gas spring
In the ACP scissor mechanism, the source, in this case a gas spring, has three rather than two attachment points. The same reach can therefore be achieved using less extension force. The benefits: less force required, lighter construction and compact installation, thanks to the scissor angle of 0 degrees (completely flat).
